Types of certifications:
ALS – basic certification for legal professionals. You must have completed one of the following: accredited office curriculum; the NALS Basic Legal Training Course; or one year of general office experience.
PLS – advanced certification for legal professionals. Any person who has had three years of experience in the legal field may take the examination.
Professional Paralegal (PP) - Any person who has five years’ experience performing paralegal/legal assistant duties.
